Montage Lamp

At transformere et materiale handler om at se nye brugsmuligheder og sammenhænge. Arkitektens rolle er at udvælge, forfine og fremhæve de iboende kvaliteter, så materialet træder frem. Projektet rummer to lamper med forskellige udtryk, sammensat af byggeaffald og ventilationsdele fra byggeri og renovering. Lampens fod er formet af enten spirorør eller betonafskær fra diamantskæring, mens skærmen består af en ventilationshætte, der skjuler lyskilden. Transformationen opstår i mødet mellem materialerne, som bogstaveligt talt bliver sat i nyt lys. // Transforming a material is about seeing new potential purposes and connections. The architect’s role is to select, refine and highlight inherent qualities to showcase the material. The project includes two lamps with different expressions, made from building-site waste and ventilation components from construction and renovation. The base of the lamp is made of spiral ducts or diamond-cut concrete shavings, while the shade is a ventilation cap that conceals the light source. The transformation happens in the encounter of the materials, which are literally put in a new light.
