GLOBALMADELOCAL IN THEORY

Our description does not describe a piece of furniture. The result of our 50/50 is a process, technique, community, network, gallery, an ever expanding catalogue of furniture from around the globe, made locally.

GlobalMadeLocal is a global furniture collection that is made locally. It is a community of cabinetmakers (and designers) who share design knowledge to form a global furniture collection. The GlobalMadeLocal Collection stems from the collaboration of designers and cabinetmakers from all over the world. The final production of each piece takes place locally, close to the customer who commissions the piece, irrespective of where the piece was originally developed.

Each commissioned piece is registered and given an authenticity number that is attached to the piece. The tagged number can be used to search for information about the piece at:
