An experiment in ashwood. Inspired by nature's strong minimalist structures, shells, snail shells, growing trees.
Tranquility in the form, the curves, peaceful to the eye. Lightness, light and air. Playing with the materials. How little or how much can you do - and yet achieve a functional piece of furniture? A step on the way towards the optimally light, strong structure. Wood and its many opportunities fascinate me.
A continuation af last year's project, a foot stool in which the worked ashwood determined the shape of the furniture. This time I have decided the shape and the ashwood has been steam-warped. A carpet that I have folded.
