CREMATION COFFIN AND URN

The design of most things used in our society is the subject of continous development, but the coffin has been anonymous for generations. It was for this reason that I decided to look at it.

In my design, I have divided the coffin into two parts. The actual "container" is made solely from solid ash, without nails or screws. It is only this part that is burned. The other part is a carrying frame which also strengthens the coffin's light structure.
Production of the frame in steel signals that it is not to be burned but is for re-use.

The high placing of the handless results in good balance and an optimally ergonomic carrying position.
