CABINETMAKERS´ AUTUMN EXHIBITION 96

MULTIMEDIA FURNITURE

DESIGN: CHRISTIAN HVIDT  /  MADE BY A/S SØBORG MØBELFABRIK
The increasing interest in the use of computers and multimedia in the home hace created a parallel need for furniture that can accomodate this equipment.

The furniture on show seeks to satisfy the need for an easily accessible piece of furniture that, while accommodating the equipment in a home-based office, meets the wish for a design that blends naturally with the other furniture in the home in terms of materials and appearance.

The cupboard unit, which has two doors, is on a plinth that ensures a good working height. When folded down, the bottom door serves as a work surface for the keyboard and mouse. The cupboard unit is equipped with loose shelves and trays with room for the computer, printer, information and fax equipment. The unit has been designed to be equally convenient for right-handed and left-handed users.

The material is Danish elm, with details and fittings in stainless steel.
